Deciding to make changes in order to grow and be the best you is an important decision. Most often it follows some considerable moments of struggle and contemplation and the understanding that something isn’t working. We all have times in our life that we would like to better understand ourselves, our motivations and the choices we are making. Sometimes a book, or online course or Ted talk can be just thing to shift us into a better place, and sometimes we would do best to travel with a guide who can shine light on the dark parts of the path.
I firmly believe that we were not meant to travel through this life alone. We are hardwired for connection - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The proof of this is how much pain we suffer when we feel disconnected. Being ‘in connection’ with ourselves, and our loved ones can be challenging and requires vulnerability and courage and sometimes we need to see what is getting in the way. This is how I view my work as an agent of change, be it individually or as a group. Looking at and experiencing our lives through the lens of being ‘wholehearted’ not perfect, gives us the chance to grow and create more of what we want in our lives, be it love, intimacy, joy, connection, trust, and/or creativity. So if you are considering reaching out and starting some work, know that you are being courageous.
Our working definition of courage is:
Know that “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do. The first step is giving ourselves permission to show up” Brené Brown
How would you like to ‘show up, be seen and live brave’?
